Matt & Jenna's First Look

Matt & Jenna were excited and see each other for the first time and enjoyed a few minutes in to themselves before their fun and busy day of celebration with lot of AMAZING family and friends, who traveled around the globe to attend Mattt & Jenna's Wedding.

Wedding days are a mad rush to prepare for the ceremony and reception PAR-TAEHHH.  The Bride and Groom are separated until the ceremony, where they see each other for the first time in view of family and friends. The Bride and Groom kiss to seal the deal and are whisked away to a Receiving Line, greeting and thanking each guest who came to their wedding celebration.  Add 2 hours for Family Portraits, Bridal Party Portraits, Bride's Portriats and Groom's Portraits.  Following the Receiving Line, the Bride and Groom enter the reception for the Grand March, Toasts, Dinner, Cake Cutting, First Dance, Daughter/Father Dance, Mother Son Dance, Flower Toss, Garter Toss and then dancing the night away until the wee hours of the evening.  Finally a moments of peace, the Groom looks at his Bride, who is thinking about how nice it would be to take off her high heels, change into a big shirt and lay horizontally for a while moment, perhaps, upon a Tempur-Pedic bed with cool gels and snuggle until the smell of coffee, eggs and bacon awaken her, just like Sleeping Beauty wakes up with a sweet kiss from Prince Charming.

Matt & Jenna wanted to share in a "First Look" before their wedding ceremony.  A "First Look" is a very precious and special moment shared between the Bride and Groom. The "First Look" moment is not to be replaced with the excitement of walking down the aisle, but it's viewed as an additional moment, that is very private and special to a wedding day.  Matt & Jenna were excited and see each other for the first time and enjoyed a few minutes in to themselves before their fun and busy day of celebration with lot of AMAZING family and friends, who traveled around the globe to attend Mattt & Jenna's Wedding.  People say their wedding day was one of the most happiest day of their lives.  Now, Matt & Jenna are able to think back to their wedding day memories, this happiest day of their lives and I hope that one of their most favorite moments will be from their First Look moments we captured.  Much love and happiness to you both Matt & Jenna!  xo, Jenna

Wedding: Matt+Jenna, War Memorial, Milwaukee Wisconsin

The War Memorial in downtown Milwaukee was ready to receive their bridal couple.  Overlooking the beautiful blue waters of Lake Michigan, the breeze blew, guest arrived and were greeted by a hosted bar and cold drinks kept guest happy and cool.  The bridal walked down the aisle, along side the couples fur baby, Oliver.  Matt surprised Jenna with a guitar solo of the song, "Grow Old With You" by Adam Sandler.  Matt & Jenna were so thoughtful of all their guest, especially the guest that arrived from around the world, to celebrate this day.  It was such a special weekend, two worlds of different friends and family, coming together to celebrate the love and laughter with Matt & Jenna as they become husband and wife.  The day was AMAZING and I just want to thank Matt & Jenna for allowing me to be part of their big day.  Congratulations Matt & Jenna!  I wish you much love and happiness. XO- Jenna

It was a brilliant blue sky and golden sun rays shined brightly upon the downtown Milwaukee. Jenna was exquisite, her hair and makeup was flawless against the perfection of this young beautiful bride.  Jenna greeted me by walking down the wood and iron spiral staircase wearing her white bedazzled "Bride" robe and checking off her list of things to do, like fixing the orange floral bouquet, making sure everyone was comfortable and had what they needed.  Jenna never missed an opportunity to giggling with her company.  Jenna's company consisted of the bride's seven best friends who were all there, giggling and laughing out loud while one of them were getting their hair and make up done or enjoying a spectacular view of downtown Milwaukee.  Matt and his bromance brothers got ready at the couple condo, which was just down the hill. THE GOAL OF YOGA (NO, IT'S NOT THE HANDSTAND)...

The goal of yoga...

The yoga pose is not the goal.

Becoming flexible is not the goal.

Standing on your hands is not the goal.

The goal is to create space where you were once stuck.

To unveil the layers of protection you've built around your heart.

To appreciate your body and become aware of the mind and the noise it creates.

To make peace with who YOU really are.

The goal is to love, well...YOU.

Come to your yoga mat to feel; not to accomplish.

Shift your focus and your heart will grow.

Wedding: Matt + Patti Kurtz, Farmhouse in Freedonia, Wisconsin

Matt, a Pilot and Patti, a Nutritional Dietician met online. Patti is Matt's perfect "adventure-mate-for-life", so much so, Matt proposed to Patti during an adventure hike in the California Redwood Forest. Matt fulfills Patti's life with smiles and laughs so hard, she throws her head back, mouth wide open and with smiling eyes, Patti literally, "LOL's".  Their love is undeniable!

It's the third day of Summer 2016. The brilliant blue sky broke through the storm clouds  and the sun shined brightly upon the historic Kurtz family farmhouse in Freedonia, Wisconsin. In the front yard, greeters in the driveway cheerfully invite guest to park in the back field, the microphone systems were carefully set up.  The poignantly groomed landscaping and several types of bird feeders provided a picturesque backdrop.  Hand painted signs where placed around the property, the musicians practiced their songs as simple wooden white chairs and wooden rustic arbor were set for the wedding ceremony.  The draped grapevine wine garden provided shade for the hand made bar created from old Jack Daniels barrels and lids. Curated images of Matt & Patti hung on twine and lined the wooden post.  The wine garden was perfectly decorated and supplies were prepared to host the receiving line as wedding guest greet the new Mr. & Mrs. Matthew Kurtz. Several strings of vintage miniature Edison bulbs, Christmas lights and old gas lanterns where ready to provide a warm glow of lovely light, illuminating the evenings festivities. Several corn hole boxes and enormous Jenga blocks provided entertainment for wedding guest.  A large white tent stood tall among the farm fields, providing shelter for several tables covered in white table clothes and decorated with beautiful hand picked flowers placed in mason jars.  Patti's hair piece came from her mother's wedding veil.  Patti's belt and bottom of the wedding gown were pieces of lace from Patti's mother's wedding dress.  Matt wore a three piece gray suit and wheat colored tie. The historic farmhouse was buzzing with energy.

The wedding ceremony was elegant and simple.  The receiving line stretched out and around the circle driveway.  After dinner, heart touching toasts were given, the cutting of the cake traditions, along with the couple's first dance, mother and son dance and lastly...the father and daughter dance, with a surprise live performance from Patti's brother.   There wasn't a dry eye under the tent.  The love and mutual respect Patti shares with her father was easily apparent.  My mascara ran as I attempted to capture the many precious moments that will become Matt & Patti's treasured wedding momentums.  One day, these will be passed down from generation to generation.

A couple weeks before the wedding, I was invited to the Kurtz historic farmhouse to review our wedding time line, chase the light and scout locations for formal portraits.  I was treated to a BBQ dinner of Jack Daniel's hand stuffed hamburgers with all the fixin's and homemade pickled beets and pickled garlic.  I washed it down with Ken's home made beer.  Man, was I was spoiled! I get to know Matt's parents better that evening.  When Ken & Gail Kurtz bought their farmhouse, Gail's mother cried at the state the farmhouse was in at that time it was purchased.  Ken & Gail had a vision and created a beautiful home, they loved their son and watched him grow up in this home.  Now, the Kurtz are hosting the ceremony venue at their farmhouse and welcoming a new daughter into their family.

Our time is short.  I believe the moments we create and share is what makes life worth living. Being a Portrait & Wedding Photography, I don't take these moments for granted.  I relish in them. Maybe a little to long...lol. My job is to freeze these moments, that we will never happen again, so that one day, Matt & Patti will look back at these images and remember that feeling they had on their wedding day...

Congratulation Matt & Patti.  Thank you for choosing Tiffany Blue Photography.  It was an awesome experience and truly an honor to be your Wedding Photographer.

Wedding: Tony + Jenna Balistreri

By following the "Yellow Brick Road", Tony & Jenna's first sunset together as husband and wife reflected a vibrant golden yellow and orange sky. They continued their first steps as man and wife, dancing the night away as friends and family watched on...

On Saturday, June 11, 2016, I knocked upon the hotel door where Jenna and her bridesmaids were getting prepped and pampered.  The hotel suite was spacious and beautiful, including a large dining table for hair and make-up, living room where the flower girls watched cartoons, and a kitchenette held sandwiches for everyone.  The room was buzzing with energy and last moments checklists were being called off.  Jenna and her peeps planned everything perfectly, down to the last detail.

Tony & Jenna shared special notes and gifts with each other before their wedding ceremony. Both expressed nervous smiles, excitement.  Jenna shed a few happy and anxious tears while reading Tony's notes.  With a Wizard of Oz theme, the wedding ceremony began by the bridal party following the yellow brick road down to a beautiful sand ceremony.  Tony and Jenna shared this day surrounded by many of their close family members, including great grandmothers who wear tiaras, as well as many close friends, all who love and support them both so much.  The reception site was decorated with so much attention to detail covering the Wizard of Oz movie with flying monkeys, ruby glass slipper table cards, cupcakes creating a path to Emerald City, Dorothy, Toto & their brood were every where you looked. By following the "Yellow Brick Road", Tony & Jenna's first sunset together as husband and wife reflected a vibrant golden yellow and orange sky. They continued their first steps as man and wife, dancing the night away as friends and family watched on... With so much love and support, Tony & Jenna, you two are on the right path to many amazing moments in your life.  May your rainbows be filled with love, light and happiness, always! Congratulations! XO- Jenna Foscato, Tiffany Blue Photography

Dad's are ordinary men, turned into HERO's

"DADS are most ordinary men, turned by love into Heroes, Adventurers, Story-Tellers and Singer of Songs."- Brown

"DADS are most ordinary men, turned by love into Heroes, Adventurers, Story-Tellers and Singer of Songs."- Brown

A Father's Day Weekend Thought: Daddy's Little Girl...

It's funny how little girls grow up to become brides.  It begins with complete dependence upon Daddy to help them survive (along with a lot of help from Mom).  They're sweet and curious, days are long, but years fly by too fast.  They loose a tooth and they're hair isn't brushed, yet THERE they lay.  Still on top of Daddy's belly with their head under Daddy's chin, watching the sports event Daddy is watching.  From infancy, they lay upon Daddy's belly, until their toes can reach Daddy's toes and they start growing long and lanky.  Daddy helps them with homework, stays awake at night to read them story books and asks them how their day went.  Daddy attends dances at school and takes them out for Daddy/Daughter Date night.  Daddy attends every Theatrical Play and every Tae Kwon Do event, Daddy even signs up to coach T-Ball for his little girl. The new school year begins and the seasons blow on.  They worry about fashion and friends, but still make time for Daddy. They leave home for college and make lunch dates with Dad. Until one day, a boy comes along.  With one quick SWOOP, Daddy's little girl is putting on a beautiful bridal dress, wearing making, hair all fancy and done, holding a bouquet of flowers in her hand. She is all grown up, within a blink of an eye, Daddy is walking his little Princess down the aisle to become someone's, WIFE.

As a Wisconsin Wedding Photographer AND as a parent, I wonder where did all the time go? Although my children are six and seven years old, I consider myself very lucky, blessed and incredibly GRATEFUL!  Every single day, I am with my children.  Teaching them about consequences and appropriate behavior, giving them the opportunities I never had, watching them develop their own identity, training them to think for for themselves, to become smart, responsible, loving, giving, talented and AMAZING people.

At EVERY wedding event I capture, I tear up and cry (TRUE STORY, you can ask my bride's, even now, I've cried twice while writing this thought).  It's all about the THOUGHT, behind the action, I'm capturing, at that VERY moment.  This is why I love my job as a Wedding Photographer.  It's the emotion I love to capture and help preserve one of the most important days of someone's life.  My job of telling their story and how people in their life, interact with them.  It is TRULY an honor to share in this event.

ONE DAY,  I'll look at my adult children and view them as if their two years old self, remember my time spent with them -- two hour nap time in the middle of the day, lots of walks to the park with our dog Bailey, three different double strollers, one for traveling, one for running and one for every day at the mall, the many classes at MY GYM or YMCA, the laughs, the cute silly things they do and say--that is truly a gift from GOD!  Amen.

I want to thank all the Father's in the world, for being present in their children's lives.  This day is to honor you in helping to create a love and bond that is so unique and so sweet, no mom, no man, no sweetheart can compare, to that of a Daddy and his Daughter or Son.  Good Daddy's give and they give of themselves and their time, all for the love and greatness of their children.

I LOST MY WEDDING RINGS!

During a meeting with a client, I glanced down at my hand and noticed a bear ring finger.  I’ve become mentally overwhelmed and forgetful.

During a meeting with a client, I glanced down at my hand and noticed a bear ring finger.  I’ve become mentally overwhelmed and forgetful.  Between editing a wedding, planning the timeline and execution of twelve more weddings, adding a fashion shoot, two more elaborate fashion styled family sessions, coming back from Chicago on vacation, figuring out the kids summer programs, scheduling T-ball practice as a co-Coach, in between birthday parties, Tae Kwon Do and Hip Hop dance practice, and deciding what to give teachers for the end of the year gifts and party for the class as co-headroom mom…YIKES!

What did I do?  This is ALL my fault.  I admit it. I’m not as organized as I ‘SHOULD BE”.  I removed my ring and placed it somewhere in my “NON-ORGANIZED” house.  BUT, I don’t remember doing it, that’s the scary thing to me!  Photographer post I read say that if your house is a mess with laundry piled high, dust bunnies under your couch and five days of dry shampoo in your hair, you must be putting in the hustle, passionate about what your doing and becoming successful in your photography business.  Which is true…except I’m onto six days of dry shampoo and two feet tall of laundry that needs to be folded.

I started saying prayers to the Lord above. I stepped away from the computer and started doing a clean sweep of the bedside table, not there.  The other bedside table, not there.  The floors beside the bed, not there.  Emptied my purse out and looked through all the pockets, not there.  I search the kitchen counters and little doo-dad holders, not there.  I cleaned out my desktop and little drawers and wiped down the countertops, still no where to be found.  I called the hotel in Chicago where I was yesterday to see if I left it there, they confirmed no ring was found.

What do I tell my husband?  Should I not say anything?  Should I try to find another ring similar to my ring?  No. Dishonesty would kill my spirit and my marriage.  No!  I decided to tell my husband when I sat on my bed and engagement ring popped out from under the blanket…I held my breath…I carefully pulled back the blanket again and found my wedding band.  I removed my ring, in my sleep ya’ll!  It’s subconscious sleeping and that is why I couldn’t remember what I did with it.  Thank you Lord for saving my soul, I began to sing out loud!  Hallelujah, Mount Zion!  The Lord has graced my mind with peace and now realize what I need to…

My lessons learned from losing my ring:

1)    My marriage, my children, my home is my PRIORITY

2)    Meditate/Pray EVERYDAY…slow the brain down and live in your moment

3)    Lying or Dishonesty is never acceptable, even in times of hard and difficult truths…live your truth, faults and all.  Own it!  Do what’s right, ALWAYS and you will be blessed in your life.

4)    In order to CREATE, you need a GOAL – Daily, Weekly & Monthly.

a.    Write down your GOAL

b.    List your steps, in backwards order of how you need to hustle in order to get to the goal

5)    Take care of yourself:

a.    Eat right

b.    Vitamains

c.    Exercise

d.    Sleep

Especially during the begging of wedding season, I vow to follow my lesson I learned, to slow down my brain and live in each moment.

...AND give my husband my wedding bands to hold until after wedding season slows down… :)

CHEERS Y'ALL. It's Girls Night OUT!

Wedding: Paul + Carla Westbrook

"I want the kind of marriage that makes my kids want to get married"-Emily Werenga, Happy Wives Club

Paul & Carla have the kind of love that makes you want to stop and stay a while.  Hang out.  Chill and let's have some fun!  Capturing their love story at Milford Hills Hunting Club was a feast for the eyes caused me to have a happy tear breakdown right before the ceremony.  It was an EPIC wedding and so much fun...see more here

It was a cold Fall October morning when Paul & Carla arrived for their Engagement Session at Fox & Hounds Restaurant in Richfield, Wisconsin.  The trees were orange in color and offered a magnificent backdrop.  We made a stop at Holy Hill Bascilica, then headed to a quaint apple orchard on the side of the road.  Paul was shy at first, but quickly warmed up after I gave him a couple inappropriate posing directions to break the ice and then he had me rolling in laughter with stories from his work. Besides the laughs, delivery of several large canvas prints given as Christmas presents, lots of emails, spending time discussing wedding time lines and the "must-have" images during brunch at Taylors People's Park restaurant in Waukesha and meeting the whole family, Carla's son and daughter, Braxton and Elyse, I feel I've become more than just their Wedding Photographer, I've entered into their "Circle of Trust" - movie quote from "Meet the Parents".

Paul & Carla got married this past Saturday at Milford Hills Hunting Club in Johnsons Creek, Wisconsin.  Rain was in the forecast, but was replaced by warm, sunny weather, cool breezes, yellow and pink puffy clouds graced by the sublty of the orange golden skyline. As Carla & Elyse had their hair done earlier in the morning, Paul and his rowdy brood went a-hunting, ending with successfully capturing a frog.  Like a scene out of a movie, the wedding preparations and the Milford Hills Hunting Club staff were on point.  Mimosas, water jugs with lemon & finger sandwiches were laid out for snacking.  The venue was decorated with beautiful flowers and rustic touches.  The ceremony site was lined with white chairs, a long pathway that led to a gazebo overlooking a glassy lake and rolling hillsides. The bride wore her dream dress with meticulous sparkles and beaded touches, donned by her cowboy boots, especially polished by Paul, Carla was ready to walk down the aisle to her awaiting husband to be.  The family and friends listened and witnessed the "I DOs" followed by a tractor pulled hay ride for the bridal party.  Paul located a John Deere tractor and wanted to have a picture taken of them to pay respect to Carla's Grandfather, who passed two weeks before their wedding day.  It's their love, respect and thoughtfulness for each other that will last hold these two together for the tide of time.  The toasts were heartfelt.  The choice of plated steak, pheasant or mushroom raveoli was not only large portions, but mouth wateringly delicious!

Paul & Carla were surrounded by their family and friends that love and support them.  Capturing their love story for the day was easy and effortless.  The day went by fast, but by living in the moment, I believe I was able to tell the story of their Big Day.  Years from now, when they look back at their wedding day, I hope they feel the same emotions they felt on the day they became husband and wife.  Congratulations Paul & Carla!  I look forward to many more years of hanging out with you guys and capturing your family moments in Oconomowoc, woc woc. XO-Jenna

I found my inspiration in Mequon, Wisconsin

I was mentally and visually inspired returning from L.A. I attended a two day Jasmine Star's workshop, Path to Profitability, held at a venue called Big Daddy's Antique Shop in Culver City, California. HOLY MOLY! Besides meeting and hanging out with other AH-MAZ-ING creatives and my "#GIRLBOSSCEO" crush, named Top Ten Wedding Photographer IN THE WORLD, the famous and FABULOSO, (drum roll puhhhleeeeease? ) Jasmine Star, the venue offered curated functional interior art that was visually and emotionally...INSPIRING!

Searching to relive the inspirational surrounding evoked by Big Daddy's Antique shop in Wisconsin, I drove by a white picket fenced, charming and rustic shaker styled house with pointed rooftops, iron figurines on the rooftop that spin when the when the wind blew, beautiful archways that cradled patina brass craftsman styled lanterns, shrub and flower flourished pathways leading into intimate private green spaces, vintage doors carefully leaning against the building with rustic plants softly swaying their leafy greens on the over time rubbed off paint. A corrugated metal sign stating "Vintage Market" beckoned my creative soul.  I was compelled to pull over, park my car and courage up the walk, past the doors, past the archways, past the shrub covered patio to the see through glass door of the house.  I opened the door and was greeted with the smell of calming candles, a creamy bright and fresh kind of light welcomed me in and I was greeted by Sara Harder, owner of the COLOUR BOWL SALON/SPA & VINTAGE MARKET with carefully curated functional art items that ignited emotion from my soul, wooden are signs, metal angel wings, beautiful funiture, claw foot tub in one of the bathrooms and they even the beautifully caged morning doves, JUST LIKE BIG DADDY'S ANTIQUE SHOP.  Y'ALL! I found my Wisconsin INSPIRATIONAL location.  Half of the house is an ORGANIC Salon/Spa and the other half the Vintage Market. But don't take my word for it, look at the images below for proof.  (hands on side of face) OH. MY. GOODNESS!

My family is made up of Princesses & Super Heroes

Mi familia, is made up of Princess & Superheroes.  Time and moments created is what I treasure in my life. Family. Friends. Food.  This is the equation to a memorable moment.  Go have one today! :)

Mi familia.  We were able to spend Spring Break together with family -- cousins got to play Princesses & Super Heroes.  Lots of yummy food, catching up with each other's lives, and some lots of messy, role playing, game throwing, air hockey-ing, table tennis and wii playing times with our loved ones.  The most memorable memories for me was playing with my cousins, having really good food to munch on and then playing again until the very end of the evening.  Now as we are older, I visit L.A. and my cousins are my siblings, we still get together, their children and all, come out to my hotel and we hang out for a little bit, laugh, take photos and just BE, together. I want that for my children.  I believe in instilling these so-called traditions, what you expect from a family, to nurture them to be close, to share, to care and respect one another.  Time and moments is what I treasure in my lifetime.  My house may be a mess, but we have food, we have family, we have friends and we create memories, all while having FUN! Happy Thursday everyone.  I hope you create some memories this week that are unforgettable as well. PEACE!

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patty's Day!  Emily woke me up saying she didn't have anything green to wear today.  I went to forage through my costumes and found her this little green frock.  Sparkly leggings and a black mock turtleneck covered by a pleather jacket.  Connor ended up wearing one of Emily's green button down shirts and he wanted to wear his Michael Jackson shoes and black pants to be "kinda" fancy, but not "too" fancy.  I love having my own little living dress up dolls.  By the end of it all, Emily was done with me taking pictures....Pish posh...check out her face on the steps of the bus..."AWH MAWWMMMMMMM".  Oh, teenage years..can hardly wait for it.
