Spirit Week at School...
It's spirit week at school and these two kids went as an 1950's inspired "cool" couple. Connor can be cool and GQ, next moment he's turned into Pee-Wee Herman, hah-hah!. Emily is all about her tallness and her grace. She is so tire of putting little brother in his place. However, these two make a great team.
Ross LOVES Colleen
Camera ready, I turn and catch a quick glimpse of two hearts sharing a flirty look, a secret told across the table, a naughty laugh. One would think these two have stolen a moment away, but these two lovebirds, Ross and Colleen, have been married for two years and are still on their honeymoon. What an awesome day it was hanging out with these two! Love is always in the air.
Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago, Illinois
What to do with your children during spring break? Have you been to every museum in the state of Wisconsin with your kids? With your Milwaukee Public Museum Membership, a free pass is awaiting your visit to The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Illinois. They were setting up their Viking artifacts when I went to visit with my children, but we went to see the several artifacts found in Pharaoh's tombs, lots of mummies, a wooden boat needed in the after life. It was interesting at first and then the thought of looking at dead people got creepy for my kids, so we moved on to the lots and lots of dinosaurs rooms. We've visited museums in California, The Smithsonian and Milwaukee, The Field Museum has the largest collection of dinosaurs I have ever seen. There are many other interesting rooms to tour like the section on Voo-Doo artifacts, The Tibetan artifacts, and you can take a turns talking to scientist about DNA at the DNA laboratories. The IMAX theater was NOT as cool as our Milwaukee Public Museum because they did not offer drinks, candy or popcorn like Milwaukee does. Also, their seats were not IMAX seating with a dome ceiling like Milwaukee is. I would say it was a long day, but well worth the drive with the kids.
Best Friends: Colleen & Deanna Share A Day In Their Life
This Sunday was no ordinary best friend photoshoot. Oh no! This was a best friend, PLUS wife and husband with two fur babies PLUS girlfriend and boyfriend with one fur baby resulting in one of the best Sunday photoshoot's I've done, EVER! Colleen and Deanna have been best friends for ten years, Colleen and Ross have been married for two years and Deanna and Mitch have been together for five years. With fur babies Sierra, Shadow and Harley, life is never boring as some of the pictures show their liveliness and sweet demeanor. We explored downtown Milwaukee Public Market, allies, loading docks, bridges and ended the day with beers. Blue skies, sixty degrees and a day in the city doing what I love to do with some of the best people I've met, makes me one happy photographer.
Mellissa & Joe, So in LOVE!
Presenting Mellissa & Joe, our newly engaged couple in West Bend, Wisconsin.
Presenting Mellissa & Joe, our newly engaged couple in West Bend, Wisconsin. I was so excited to spend an hour taking pictures in historic downtown West Bend. We started at Grasshoppers, Melissa & Joe's favorite breakfast spot. Then we found a pretty country blue colored bench and brick wall that, if it could, blushed from the couples sweet kisses to each other. The old movie theater is iconic and timeless, just like Melissa and Joe's love! Crossing the streets, heading up to the old historic courthouse, finding all sorts of fun photographic spots for this lovely couple was truly an honor to capture. I cannot wait for their October 2015 wedding!
Headshots for Nichole Kane
Headshot for Nichole Kane
Nichole Kane needed headshot for a casting call. We took some new pictures and I've edited some oldies, but goodies for her selection. We have a good mix to reflect different portrayals Nichole can use in her upcoming roles. Besides knowing how to work the camera and smooth modeling transitions, this photo shoot went fast, furious and I believe Nichole nailed the shots.

Myungho: Korean 1st Birthday
Korean 1st Birthday: The Doljabi. This is the big event at a traditional Korean’s first birthday. The birthday baby is placed in front of various items and encouraged to choose an item. It is thought that the item the baby chooses predicts their future. Myuhgho Park celebrated his first birthday with his big brother Kungho, big sister Minji, OMA (Mommy) Jin, Daddy Ben, Aunties, Uncles, Grandma and of course his closes family church friends.
Myungho celebrated by eating a healthy dinner, spending time with his peeps, taking a power nap in the middle of his Doljabi, selecting a stethoscope predicting his future in medicine, ending the evening smashing the yummy cake. OMA Jin took lots of time planning this special day for her third child by setting up the decorations, art work, photographs, cake, food and finally the wonderful slideshow movie of Myungho's birth and first year of life with his family. This constantly smiling happy baby proves his life is full of love and his every need is met by his family and friends. Happy 1st Birthday Myhungho!
Meet Zumba Instructor Joe Henderson
My Zumba world was rocked. His hips shake and shimmy. Transfixed, everyone in class follows along while his motion is more hip thrusts and waving arm stretches. Mesmerized by his songs and zippy choreography, we meet Joe Henderson. He is so upbeat, positive and friendly, most people feel as if they have known him for a long time. Hanging out with Zumba instructor Joe introduced me to the many funny sides of Joe and how photogenic he is. Whatever Joe Henderson does, he does it with style, grace and pizazz!
Finn & Sloane
Oh my goodness, what to say about these two cute little people in my family. I am the luckiest Auntie! When I get to spend time with this brother and sister duo, all bets are off. It's time for lollipops, chocolate, juice with heart straws, chicken nuggets, and whatever toy they want to play with. My job is to spoil these two souls and always be a friend to them. Sloane will be eighteen months, going on...teenage...with her baby talk and..."don't you understand what I'm saying?" look. Finn will be three soon. He is my sweet little Disney loving' pal. We can find all toys Disney related and play for hours...including Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and we have to give thumbs up to Bubble Guppies from Nickelodeon! Our photo session was an afternoon, that turned into dinner and after play. What a lucky girl I am to have two little ones that can sit on my lap while we watch Disney movies on my IMAC. Thank you Finn and Sloane for an awesome Saturday night date!
A day spent with friends is a day well spent!
Lexi brought her friends to the studio for some girly goodness, best friends goofiness, lots of giggles and down right fun time. Hanging out with these girls made me remember the simple things in life is what make us happy. Each young lady was a little nervousness for their first photoshoot, which lasted about 3 minutes, then it was fashion teen magazine time. It was an honor to spend time with these ladies and capture their distinct personalities each one possesses and the similarities that bond them together. It's the bond that doesn't need to be deeply serious, but a bond about something little and just silly enough to keep them laughing is what binds them together. Friendships are a valuable gift!
Connor tries on hats?
"There's this boy, I'm totally into him, he calls me mommy". Connor wanted to pose for mommy's camera. My son is animated, wacky, impulsive, loving and sweet. He is quick to get angry and stomp his feet at me, but he is quick to chill out as well. Writing and reading is his forte. Being his mommy is easy peasy lemon squeezy.
Arianna & Rowan Goldstein-Bruno
With Valentine's Day fast approaching and little Rowan celebrating his big milestone of turning one year old, these two munchkins, along with mommy, braved the snow to capture these sweet memories. Arianna is very loving and protective of her little brother. She is sweet and sassy. Arianna would go and play with my Emily and Connor in between shoots, then come back and check on her brother. Rowan celebrated riding on Mickey Mouse rocking horse and eating his first birthday cake. On a cold winters day, we had a blast indoors.
Tristan Lehman
Tristan came to his photo shoot camera ready and full of energy. You can see his sweet and silly side in the way he holds his head and the love he has for his mommy and daddy in the blue of his eyes. I had a lot of fun doing Tristan's headshot. Watch out print ads, here come's Tristan!

Change my (818) area code to Colgate?
OMG! I just had a Carrie Bradshaw from "Sex In The City" moment - "I'm just a 917 girl".
My friends say I should change my California area code from (818) to a Colgate, Wisconsin phone number. I travel and have moved around so much in the past fifteen years. I'm back and forth from the west coast, east coast, midwest, the south, visiting family and friends all over our beautiful USA. I've had my (818) area code phone number for more than fifteen years. It's become part of who I am and I feel I belong to that number. I can't give it, should I?
California-cation Weekend
This weekend went to the dogs, I was able to leave the cold of Wisconsin and head back home to the warm and lovely Orange County coast of California.
““Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.””
This weekend was spent in the company of our family dogs. Tito is the leader of the pack, Tutu is his side-kick, Duffy is third wheel and Sebastian, well, Sebby is blind, has only one eye, no teeth and wants to eat all the time. When people walk in front of our house, these four little loving creatures turn into "the Hulk" and know how to pack in a punch by their little barks.
A much needed road trip to Santa Barbara lead to a beautiful adventure. I meet Lucy, an English Bulldog, at the Goleta Monarch Preserve. Not much going on with the Monarchs, but Lucy was ready to tear up a mean brown stick, get some love pats from strangers walking by and strut her stuff down the catwalk.
The Monarch butterflies are know to be the kings of the butterflies. Their orange and brown markings on their wings, they are known to be one of the strongest of their breed. The Monarch butterflies are amazing creatures because this small winged creature will migrate far distances from North America, Canada and Mexico. At the Goleta Monarch Preserve, you can see them hanging together on branches among the eucalyptus trees, like leaves on a vine. When the sunlight passes through their wings, then you can catch a glimpse of their beautiful orange and black color. This makes me appreciate how hard a small creature will work to continue it's journey in life.
