Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago, Illinois

What to do with your children during spring break?  Have you been to every museum in the state of Wisconsin with your kids?  With your Milwaukee Public Museum Membership, a free pass is awaiting your visit to The Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, Illinois.  They were setting up their Viking artifacts when I went to visit with my children, but we went to see the several artifacts found in Pharaoh's tombs, lots of mummies, a wooden boat needed in the after life.  It was interesting at first and then the thought of looking at dead people got creepy for my kids, so we moved on to the lots and lots of dinosaurs rooms.  We've visited museums in California, The Smithsonian and Milwaukee, The Field Museum has the largest collection of dinosaurs I have ever seen.  There are many other interesting rooms to tour like the section on Voo-Doo  artifacts, The Tibetan artifacts, and you can take a turns talking to scientist about DNA at the DNA laboratories.  The IMAX theater was NOT as cool as our Milwaukee Public Museum because they did not offer drinks, candy or popcorn like Milwaukee does.  Also, their seats were not IMAX seating with a dome ceiling like Milwaukee is.  I would say it was a long day, but well worth the drive with the kids.
